DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team Seeking New Training Locations
The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out to the community in search of new locations to conduct SWAT training exercises. Officials say a variety of sites are needed, including vacant buildings, after-hours businesses, warehouses, large facilities, construction sites, churches, wooded areas, and open fields.
If a property is scheduled for demolition or renovation, the Sheriff’s Office is especially interested, noting that these environments are ideal for tactical entry and breaching scenario training. All exercises are conducted in controlled and safe conditions, with the goal of ensuring the SWAT Team remains fully prepared for any situation that may arise.
The Sheriff’s Office says hosting a training site is an impactful way for property owners and managers to support local law enforcement.
Anyone interested in partnering with the DCSO SWAT Team or offering a location is encouraged to contact the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office. Officials say they would greatly appreciate hearing from members of the community willing to assist in this important training effort.
