DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Wants You To Have A Safe Halloween
A Message From DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office
As we gear up for a spooktacular Halloween, it’s essential to prioritize safety for you and your family. ???? Halloween is a time for joy, laughter and sweet treats. But not everyone can participate in the same way! Some individuals, like sexual predators, have restrictions in place for the safety of our community.
???? Houses without lights can be a potential danger. In some cases, a house without lights could be home to a registered sexual offender. By law sexual offenders are required to keep their lights ???? OFF and refrain from answering their doors to trick-or-treaters during Halloween. This measure is put in place to protect our children and families who may be out enjoying the holiday.
???? Did you know you can track the addresses of sexual predators through the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office app on your smartphone device? The app provides access to a map of registered sexual offenders in our community. With this feature, you can easily identify areas to avoid, ensuring a worry-free Halloween.
