SCAM ALERT
The Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a telephone scam, in which the caller is claiming to be “Captain Pitts.” The caller tells the victims they have missed a subpoena.
Remember – you won’t be contacted in this way. Should you have a summons/subpoena, you will be contacted in person by a uniformed deputy.
We would like to remind the public to exercise caution when answering phone calls from unknown callers, and never give out personal or financial information over the phone without first verifying the caller’s identity and information.
