AUTHORITIES HAVE RELEASED THE DETAILS OF WHAT WENT DOWN IN THE MURDER OF JEFFREY MAZUR.  PUBLISHED REPORTS SAY 33 YEAR OLD DRIFTER JAMES BESAW WAS UPSET WITH MAZUR AFTER HE WENT TO HIM TO RECOVER SOME SILVER COINS HE HAD PAWNED.  WHEN MAZUR TOLD BESAW THEY WERE NO LONGER AVAILABLE, HE LEFT THE STORE ONLY TO RETURN A SHORT TIME LATER WITH A HAMMER.  COURT DOCUMENTS SHOW THAT BESAW CONFESSED TO HITTING MAZUR IN THE HEAD THREE TIMES WITH THE HAMMER.  MAZUR DIED FRIDAY IN LEE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL.  BESAW ALSO TOOK WALLET, CREDIT CARDS, $300 CASH AND SEVERAL COINS FROM THE STORE BEFORE HEADING SOUTH.  THE REPORT SAYS VIDEO FROM THE PHARMACY NEXT DOOR SHOWED BESAW NEAR THE SCENE AT THE TIME IT HAPPENED LAST WEDNESDAY, AND ANOTHER VIDEO SHOWED HIM AT A GAS STATION HANDING THE CLERK HIS COAT AND A CD PLAYER.  DETECTIVES WERE ALSO ABLE TO RECOVER BESAW’S BLOOD STAINED PANTS AND THE COINS, AND A YOUNG GIRL REPORTEDLY FOUND MAZUR’S WALLET.  BESAW IS CHARGED WITH FIRST DEGREE MURDER AND AGGRAVATED ROBBERY WITH A DEADLY WEAPON.  HE IS BEING HELD IN THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL WITHOUT BOND.  THE FAMILY HAS ANNOUNCED THAT A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR MAZUR WILL BE HELD SATURDAY AT NOON AT THE TRINGALI CENTER IN ENGLEWOOD.
