CHARLOTTE COUNTY DEPUTIES ARRESTED A PUNTA GORDA MAN IN CONNECTION WITH HAVING SEX WITH A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL LAST JULY.  DEPUTIES SAY THEY GOT BACK THE DNA SAMPLE THAT WAS SENT TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT LAB TAKEN FROM 20 YEAR OLD JAYSON PIQUETTE LAST WEEK AND IT MATCHED SEMEN DNA OBTAINED FROM THE SEXUAL ASSAULT KIT ON THE GIRL.  A ROAD DEPUTY SAW A SUSPICIOUS MAN TRYING TO HIDE BEHIND A DUMPSTER ON MARK AVENUE IN PUNTA GORDA MONDAY, AND WHEN HE APPROACHED, PIQUETTE IDENTIFIED HIMSELF.  THE DEPUTY RAN A CHECK AND FOUND THERE WAS A WARRANT FOR HIS ARREST, AND THAT’S WHEN PIQUETTE RAN INTO THE WOODS.  HOWEVER, BACK-UP DEPUTIES ARRIVED AND CAPTURED HIM A SHORT TIME LATER.  HE WAS CHARGED WITH RESISTING AN OFFICER, PLUS LOITERING AND PROWLING.  AT THE JAIL, PIQUETTE WAS CHARGED WITH LEWD AND LASCIVIOUS BATTERY ON A CHILD 12 YEARS OLD.  THE DETECTIVES REPORT SAID PIQUETTE HAD SEX WITH THE GIRL IN A WOODED AREA OF GULF COVE AFTER SNEAKING OUT OF THE HOUSE.  HE WAS ALSO HIT WITH VIOLATION OF PROBATION CHARGES AS HE DID NOT REPORT TO HIS STATE PROBATION OFFICER THAT HE MOVED FROM HIS SIBLEY BAY APARTMENT IN CHARLOTTE HARBOR.  PIQUETTE REMAINS IN THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL, WHERE HE IS BEING HELD WITHOUT BOND.
