THE DRIVER OF A SCOOTER PULLED OVER BY A CHARLOTTE COUNTY DEPUTY EARLY TUESDAY MORNING GOT WHAT HE WISHED FOR…AND THAT LANDED HIM IN JAIL.  DEPUTIES SAY 44 YEAR OLD FELIPE SANDOVAL JR. WAS PULLED OVER AT THE INTERSECTION OF CAPRICORN BOULEVARD AND REMUS COURT JUST BEFORE 1AM TUESDAY FOR NOT HAVING AN ILLUMINATED LICENSE PLATE.  SANDOVAL TOLD THE DEPUTY HE RECENTLY BROUGHT THE SCOOTER TO THE MECHANIC’S SHOP TO HAVE THE REAR TIRE REPLACED AND THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS WORKING.  THE DEPUTY SEARCHED SANDOVAL AFTER GETTING CONSENT, AND HE DIDN’T FIND ANYTHING ON HIM.  THE DEPUTY THEN ASKED SANDOVAL TO SEARCH HIS SCOOTER, AND THAT’S WHEN SANDOVAL BECAME VERBALLY LOUD.  HE TOLD THE DEPUTY HE HAS A RELATIVE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND HE WAS TOLD TO HAVE THE POLICE BRING OUT THE CANINE TO DO SEARCHES IF HE FEELS HARASSED.  THE CANINE ARRIVED ON SCENE AND HIT ON THE SEAT COMPARTMENT AS SANDOVAL TOLD THE OFFICER HE HAD PILLS THERE.  A SMALL PRESCRIPTION BOTTLE WAS FOUND WRAPPED IN A SWEATER THAT HAD THE NAME OF A NORTH PORT WOMAN ON IT.  INSIDE WERE TWO DIFFERENT KINDS OF OXYCODONE PILLS, AND SANDOVAL WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH TRAFFICKING IN ILLEGAL DRUGS AND POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE.  HE IS BEING HELD ON $27,500 BOND IN THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL.
