The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit received a crucial tip that Jacarius Thomas was transporting illegal drugs throughout the county. Responding quickly, our detectives attempted to make a traffic stop on the reported vehicle Thomas was driving. However, the driver had other plans, leading our deputies on a reckless pursuit!
Despite the driver’s attempts to escape, the pursuit ended when the driver abandoned the vehicle in a ditch. Our detectives quickly apprehended and detained Jacarius Thomas. An extensive investigation followed, leading to the discovery of illegal narcotics thrown out the vehicle and concealed inside. In total, 111.03 grams of Methamphetamine was seized.
Jacarius Thomas is now facing multiple charges, including Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Fleeing to Elude LEO High Speed, Tampering or Fabricating Physical Evidence, Resisting Officer Without Violence, and Possession of Controlled Substance Without Prescription.
