THERE ARE MANY PLACES YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CELEBRATE OUR NATION’S INDEPENDENCE TODAY.  IN ENGLEWOOD, THE CAJUN FESTIVAL ON DEARBORN STREET GETS UNDERWAY AT 11AM.  THERE WILL BE TWO LIVE BANDS AND A KIDS CORNER FOR THE CHILDREN.  IF YOU ARE A BOATER, PIRATES WATER TAXI IS OFFERING A FREE SHUTTLE TO AND FROM THE FESTIVAL IF YOU ANCHOR YOUR BOAT IN CHANNEL MARKERS 29 OR 30 TODAY.  THE FIREWORKS ARE SCHEDULED TO GO OFF AT 9PM, AND BRING A RADIO AS WFLN WILL BE PROVIDING PATRIOTIC MUSIC TO ACCOMPANY THE FIREWORKS DISPLAY.  THE CITY OF NORTH PORT WILL HOST A FREEDOM FESTIVAL AT BULTER PARK AND NORTH PORT HIGH SCHOOL ON PRICE BOULEVARD BEGINNING AT 6PM.  THE OPENING CEREMONY WILL TAKE PLACE AT 7PM FOLLOWED BY THE FIREWORKS AT AROUND 9PM.   IN VENICE, FIREWORKS WILL BE SHOT OFF FROM THE SOUTH JETTY AT AROUND 9PM PRESENTED BY THE SERTOMA CLUB.  THEY CAN BE SEEN IN VENICE AND NOKOMIS ON ANY OF THE BEACHES, BUT THERE WILL NOT BE VIEWING FROM THE SOUTH JETTY.  FINALLY IN PUNTA GORDA, FOURTH FEST CONTINUES AT LAISHLEY PARK STARTING AT 11AM.  ADMISSION IS $3 AND THE DAY WILL CONCLUDE WITH A FIREWORKS DISPLAY AT AROUND 9PM.
