FLORIDA GOVERNOR RICK SCOTT THREW OUT ONE OF FOUR CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCHES AT THE CHARLOTTE STONE CRABS GAME LAST NIGHT. SCOTT WAS BOOED BY ABOUT TWO-THIRDS OF THE CROWD IN ATTENDANCE, BUT THAT DIDN’T STOP HIM FROM WALKING THE CONCOURSE FOR OVER AN HOUR, SHAKING HANDS WITH ADMIRERS EVEN AFTER THE GAME HAD GOTTEN UNDERWAY. CLUB OFFICIALS SAY SCOTT’S TEAM CALLED THEM LAST WEEK AND EXPRESSED THE GOVERNOR’S INTEREST IN THROWING OUT THE PITCH. SCOTT SAID LAST WEEK THAT HE HAS EVERY INTENTION TO RUN FOR RE-ELECTION IN 2014 DESPITE AN APPROVAL RATING THAT IS AN ALL-TIME LOW FOR A GOVERNOR IN HIS FIRST YEAR. ONE POLL SAID THAT ONLY 29% OF STATE RESIDENTS APPROVE OF THE JOB SCOTT IS DOING.
