TWO PEOPLE WERE INJURED, ONE SERIOUSLY, AFTER AN IMPAIRED DRIVER LOST CONTROL IN SARASOTA LAST NIGHT.  THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 42 YEAR OLD FREDRICK MCLEAN WAS WESTBOUND ON COLONIAL OAKS BOULEVARD APPROACHING WOOD OAK DRIVE AT AROUND 8:20PM WHEN HE LOST CONTROL OF HIS FORD F-150 AND FISHTAILED.  MCLEAN THEN OVER-CORRECTED WHICH SENT THE TRUCK OFF OF THE ROADWAY WHERE IT STRUCK A MAILBOX.  THE TRUCK CONTINUED THROUGH A DRIVEWAY AND STRUCK AN OAK TREE AT 5577 COLONIAL OAKS.  MCLEAN WAS BAYFLITED TO BAYFRONT MEDICAL CENTER IN ST. PETERSBURG IN SERIOUS CONDITION, WHILE A PASSENGER, 42 YEAR OLD MICHELLE LACEFIELD OF SARASOTA, WAS TAKEN TO SARASOTA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WITH MINOR INJURIES.  TROOPERS SAY ALCOHOL WAS A FACTOR AND CHARGES ARE PENDING THE COMPLETION OF THEIR INVESTIGATION.
