SHARE NOW

A GRAND JURY IN SARASOTA COUNTY HAS BROUGHT BACK A FIRST DEGREE MURDER INDICTMENT AGAINST 47 YEAR OLD JOHN LEE, WHO IS ACCUSED OF KILLING HIS GIRLFRIEND AND HER FRIEND INSIDE HIS SOUTH VENICE HOME.  INVESTIGATORS SAY LEE BROKE INTO THE PARK ROAD HOME OF 46 YEAR OLD JASON SALTER ON JANUARY 24TH AND FOUND 39 YEAR OLD TRACY NABERGAIL THERE.  DEPUTIES AND EMS PERSONNEL FOUND BOTH DEAD WITH NECK WOUNDS INSIDE THE HOME.  PHONE RECORDS SHOW THAT LEE HAD CALLED NABERGAIL 53 TIMES OVER A 33 HOUR PERIOD, WITH THE LAST CALL HAPPENING JUST AFTER 7:30 THE NIGHT OF THE MURDERS.  THE BODIES WERE FOUND JUST AFTER 8PM.  LEE HAD ALLEGEDLY BROKEN INTO SALTER’S HOME ON JANUARY 19TH AND BATTERED BOTH SALTER AND NABERGAIL, WHICH TRIGGERED A COURT ORDER AGAINST LEE.  HE WAS PICKED UP IN ENGLEWOOD TWO DAYS AFTER THE MURDERS FOR VIOLATING THAT ORDER, AND AUTHORITIES FOUND THE CLOTHES AND BLOODY SNEAKERS THAT MATCHED THE FOOTPRINTS FOUND AT THE SCENE.  IF CONVICTED, LEE COULD GET THE DEATH PENALTY.
