A GAINESVILLE, GEORGIA MAN WAS ARRSTED AFTER HE ALLEGEDLY PULLED A SCAM ON AT LEAST ONE LOCAL WOMAN.  SARASOTA COUNTY DEPUTIES SAY 59 YEAR OLD IAN GORDON IS BEHIND BARS AFTER SHE CALLED THE 77 YEAR OLD VENICE WIDOW EARLY LAST YEAR REPRESENTING HIMSELF AS AN INVESTIGATOR WITH BANK OF AMERICA.  HE EXPLAINED A SCENARIO TO THE WOMAN OF A BANK EMPLOYEE HIDING MONEY WITH INTENTIONS OF THEFT.  THE WOMAN THEN GOT A CALL FROM ANOTHER MAN CLAMING TO BE WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, WHO CONVINCED HER TO PULL $5800 DOLLARS FROM HER BANK ACCOUNT AND MEET HIM AT THE ROTARY CLUB OFF OF JACARANDA BOULEVARD.  AFTER THE MONEY WAS EXCHANGED, SHE RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE BANK INVESTIGATOR THANKING HER FOR HER COOPERATION, BUT THE WOMAN BECAME SUSPICIOUS AND CALLED THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE.  SHERIFF’S INVESTIGATORS SAY THE STING WAS BUSTED A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER AND GORDON HAD A PARTNER, 66 YEAR OLD FRANCIS RIORDON OF CLEARWATER.  GORDON WAS CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE COUNTS AND FRAUD AND LARCENY.  HE IS BEING HELD WITHOUT BOND IN THE SARASOTA COUNTY JAIL.
