A NORTH PORT MAN IS BEHIND BARS AFTER ALLEGEDLY HOLDING UP SEVERAL PEOPLE AT GUNPOINT.  POLICE SAY 18 YEAR OLD JEFF ALCEUS WAS RECENTLY ARRESTED AFTER THEY SEARCHED THE BEDROOM IN HIS MOTHER’S HOME.  THEY REPORTEDLY FOUND A .25 CALIBER HANDGUN, A BB GUN, A BLACK SKI MASK, A LAPTOP COMPUTER WITH THE SERIAL NUMBER SCRATCHED OFF, A PLAYSTATION GAMING SYSTEM THAT HIS MOTHER SAID DID NOT BELONG TO HIM, JEWELRY, MARIJUANA, AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS.  A MAN TOLD POLICE THAT BACK ON APRIL 26TH A MASKED MAN ROBBED HIM AT GUNPOINT AT PARKMOUNT AVENUE AND RIDLEY LANE SEVERAL DAYS EARLIER.  TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS WORTH OF CHECKS WAS REPORTEDLY TAKEN, AND THE MAN IDENTIFIED ALCEUS IN A PHOTO LINEUP.  POLICE SAID THEY FOUND OUT THAT THREE OTHER PEOPLE HAD THEIR CELL PHONES TAKEN IN THE SAME ROBBERY, AND INVESTIGATORS ARE TRYING TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE JEWELRY AND OTHER ITEMS FOUND IN THE BEDROOM WERE PART OF OTHER ROBBERIES.  ALCEUS WAS CHARGED WITH ROBBERY AND DRUG TRAFFICKING.  HE IS BEING HELD ON $35,000 BAIL IN THE SARASOTA COUNTY JAIL.
