Man Arrested for Grand Theft and Drug Possession in DeSoto County
ARCADIA, FL – On December 11, 2024, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into the theft of an ATV from the Peace River Campground. The case took a significant turn when deputies spotted the stolen vehicle on a roadway, driven by 38-year-old Bryan Jeffery Lucas.
After conducting a traffic stop, dispatchers confirmed that Lucas did not possess a valid driver’s license. During the arrest, deputies also discovered 1.47 grams of methamphetamine in his possession.
Lucas now faces multiple charges, including Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Driving While License Suspended with Knowledge.
The Sheriff’s Office praised the diligence of its team in recovering the stolen ATV and bringing the suspect to justice. “We remain committed to protecting our community and ensuring that stolen property is returned to its rightful owners,” the department stated.
Lucas was booked into the DeSoto County Jail, where he awaits further legal proceedings.
