DESOTO COUNTY Sheriff’s Department has arrested a suspect in the stabbing of Shawn Popp this past Saturday night.
According to the report, a witness said that the suspect and victim were inside the home smoking weed and talking about politics before the altercation occurred.
Witnesses report that Donald Jamesbrown Henry stabbed Shawn Popp over a political argument.
The witness said he tried to help Popp but the man died from his injuries.
Henry tried to leave the scene, but the witness took his keys before getting hit in the face.
DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene on SW Shore Ave and SW Beard St at around 7 p.m.
Henry was arrested and taken to the DeSoto County jail.
