CHARLOTTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S NARCOTICS DETECTIVES ARRESTED AN ARCADIA MAN AFTER HE BOUGHT DRUGS FROM THEM AND TRIED TO ESCAPE ON FOOT AFTER CRASHING HIS VEHICLE. DEPUTIES SAY 31 YEAR OLD LESLIES WYNTER SOLD THEM 28 GRAMS OF POT FOR $130 BUCKS AT THE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS ON SANDHILL BOULEVARD IN PORT CHARLOTTE. ONCE THE TRANSACTION WAS COMPLETED, DEPUTIES MOVED IN FOR THE ARREST, BUT WYNTER TRIED TO SPEED AWAY. SEEING THAT EVERY EXIT WAS BLOCKED BY DEPUTIES, WYNTER TRIED TO DRIVE HIS VEHICLE OFF OF THE CURB, ALMOST HITTING A CRUISER. HE THEN DROVE UNDER THE OVERHANG OF THE HOTEL AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. WYNTER THEN TRIED TO ESCAPE ON FOOT, BUT HE TRIPPED OVER A CABLE AND WAS CAPTURED. HE WAS ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE DRUG CHARGES AND IS BEING HELD WITHOUT BOND IN THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL BECAUSE OF NUMEROUS FELONY CONVICTIONS IN THE PAST.
