A SARASOTA MAN WAS ARRESTED AFTER NARCOTICS DETECTIVES RECEIVED TIPS THAT HE WAS GROWING MARIJUANA IN HIS HOME. DEPUTIES SAY THEY WERE GIVEN PICTURES OF THE INSIDE OF THE HOME OF 41 YEAR OLD DAVID BROWN, AND THEY OBTAINED A SEARCH WARRANT FOR HIS MEADOWS LANE ROAD. THEY EXECUTED IT MONDAY NIGHT AND FOUND A GROW OPERATION IN THE BACK BEDROOM AND BACK YARD. THEY SEIZED A TOTAL OF 34 MARIJUANA PLANTS WEIGHING NEARLY 72 POUNDS ALONG WITH SEVERAL BAGS OF LOOSE CANABIS WEIGHING NEARLY FOUR POUNDS. BROWN WAS CHARGED WITH TRAFFICKING IN MARIJUANA AND CULTIVATION OF MARIJUANA. HE IS BEING HELD WITHOUT BOND IN THE SARASOTA COUNTY JAIL PENDING AN AUGUST 27TH ARRAIGNMENT HEARING.
