AN ARCADIA MAN WAS ARRESTED SUNDAY AFTER SURVEILLANCE VIDEO CAUGHT HIM IN THE PROCESS OF STEALING COPPER WIRE FROM A SHUTDOWN PLANT IN PUNTA GORDA.  CHARLOTTE COUNTY DEPUTIES SAY 43 YEAR OLD MARK LYNCH WAS CAUGHT WITH BURGLARY TOOLS IN HAND AND GLOVES ON INSIDE THE FORMER CEMEX PLANT ON ACLINE ROAD JUST AFTER NOON SUNDAY.  DEPUTIES HAD BEEN ALERTED BY THE SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM THAT SOMEONE WAS IN THE BUILDING MOMENTS BEFORE CATCHING LYNCH.  THE SYSTEM HAD BEEN INSTALLED BECAUSE OF PREVIOUS BREAK-INS AT THE FORMER PLANT.  WHEN QUESTIONED, LYNCH TOLD DEPUTIES HE WAS JUST TAKING A LOOK AROUND THE BUILDING AND HE WAS WEARING THE GLOVES BECAUSE HE WAS COLD…ON AN 80 DEGREE DAY.  HE WAS CHARGED WITH ARMED BURGLARY AND POSSESSION OF BURGLARY TOOLS.  HE WAS RELEASED MONDAY AFTER POSTING AN $11,000 BOND, AND DETECTIVES SAY HE’S A SUSPECT IN PREVIOUS BURGLARIES.
