A VENICE MAN WAS ARRESTED SATURDAY EVENING AFTER HE ROBBED A CHECK CASHING STORE.  SARASOTA COUNTY DEPUTIES SAY 42 YEAR OLD RONALD PENNINGTON ENTERED THE CHECK N GO ON SOUTH TAMIAMI TRAIL JUST AFTER 6PM SATURDAY AND DEMANDED MONEY FROM THE CLERK.  PENNINGTON IMPLIED HE HAD A GUN, BUT NONE WAS SEEN OR FOUND.  THE CLERK GAVE PENNINGTON AN UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF CASH AND HE FLED ON HIS BICYCLE.  WITNESSES CAME FORWARD AND GAVE AUTHORITIES A GOOD DESCRIPTION OF PENNINGTON AND WHICH WAY DIRECTION HE WAS HEADED.  A HELICOPTER AND CANINE USED THAT INFORMATION TO TRACK PENNINGTON DOWN IN A NEARBY RESIDENTIAL AREA.  ALL OF THE MONEY WAS RECOVERED AND RETURNED TO THE CHECK N GO, AND PENNINGTON WAS CHARGED WITH ROBBERY.  HE IS BEING HELD ON $50,000 BOND IN THE SARASOTA COUNTY JAIL.
