CHARLOTTE COUNTY MAJOR CRIMES UNIT DETECTIVES ARE INVESTIGATING THE DEATH OF AN ELDERLY MAN WHO WAS FOUND IN A HOME. AUTHORITIES WERE CALLED TO A FIRE AT 17131 SEASHORE AVENUE IN PORT CHARLOTTE JUST AFTER 7:30PM TUESDAY. AFTER FIREFIGHTERS DOUSED THE HOME, THEY FOUND THE YET TO BE INDENTIFIED MAN. WATCH COMMANDER LEIUTENANT RICK MCDONALD SAID “MAJOR CRIMES UNIT DETECTIVES CONTINUE THEIR INVESTIGATION TO DETERMINE THE EVENTS THAT TOOK PLACE IN THE HOME, HOWEVER, NO FURTHER DETAILS ARE BEING RELEASED AT THIS TIME.” THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE AND AN UPDATE IS EXPECTED LATER TODAY.
