CHARLOTTE COUNTY MAJOR CRIMES UNIT DETECTIVES RELEASED THE IDENTITY OF THE HOMELESS MAN THAT WAS FOUND FLOATING FACE DOWN IN A CANAL BEHIND A ROOFING BUSINESS IN THE MARKET CIRCLE INDUSTRIAL PARK IN MURDOCK ON MONDAY. THE MAN IS 42 YEAR OLD JOEL DUPUIS, WHO REPORTEDLY LIVED IN A SMALL HOMELESS CAMP NOT FAR FROM WHERE HIS BODY WAS DISCOVERED JUST BEFORE 11AM MONDAY BETWEEN THE INDUSTRIAL PARK AND COLLINSWOOD AVENUE. DETECTIVES SAY AT THIS TIME THEY DO NOT SUSPECT FOUL PLAY, BUT THEY ARE STILL AWAITING RESULTS OF THE MEDICAL EXAMINER’S AUTOPSY REPORT TO DETERMINE THE EXACT CAUSE OF DEATH.
