SARASOTA COUNTY DEPUTIES SAY TWO MEN WHO TRIED TO ROB ANOTHER WITH A BB GUN EARLY SUNDAY MORNING ENDED UP HITTING HIM OVER THE HEAD WITH IT.  DEPUTIES SAY THEY WERE CALLED TO THE AIRPORT SHELL STATION ON NORTH TAMIAMI TRAIL AT AROUND 2:40AM SUNDAY.  THE VICTIM, 28 YEAR OLD STEVEN SCOTT, TOLD THEM TWO MEN APPROACHED HIM IN THE PARKING LOT AND DEMANDED HIS WALLET AND OTHER BELONGINGS IN HIS POCKETS.  WHEN SCOTT SAW HE WAS BEING THREATENED WITH A BB GUN, HE REFUSED TO GIVE THE MEN ANYTHING.  THEN ONE OF THE MEN HIT SCOTT OVER THE HEAD WITH THE GUN AND THE TWO ESCAPED ON FOOT SOUTH OF THE STATION.  THE SUSPECTS ARE DESCRIBED AS BLACK MEN…THE FIRST WAS AROUND 25, 6’1 190 POUNDS WITH SHORT HAIR, AND HE WAS WEARING A BLACK SHIRT AND BLUE JEAN SHORTS, AND HE WAS ARMED WITH THE BLACK OR BROWN BB GUN.  THE SECOND SUSPECT IS ABOUT 20, 5’9 180 POUNDS AND WAS NOT WEARING A SHIRT BUT HAD ON BLUE JEAN SHORTS.  ANYONE WITH INFORMATION CAN CALL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS AT 861-4900, OR LEAVE ANONYMOUS INFORMATION WITH CRIME STOPPERS, EITHER BY PHONE AT 366-TIPS, OR ONLINE AT WWW.SARASOTACRIMESTOPPERS.COM.
