AN ENGLEWOOD MAN WAS ARRESTED AFTER HE ALLEGEDLY ATTACKED HIS MOTHER AND HELD HER HOSTAGE WITH AN AXE.  DEPUTIES RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE 60 YEAR OLD WOMAN AT AROUND 10AM THURSDAY AFTER SHE WAS ABLE TO ESCAPE FROM HER SON’S BEDROOM IN THEIR MARYKNOLL ROAD HOME AFTER HE PASSED OUT.  THE WOMAN SAID HER SON, 22 YEAR OLD ROBERT TUTTLE HAD BEEN DRINKING WEDNESDAY NIGHT.  SHE SAID HE BECAME AGGRESSIVE WITH HER AROUND MIDNIGHT, AND HE BEGAN TO SWING THE AXE ALL OVER THE HOME.  HE SMASHED THE KITCHEN OVEN, HIT THE REFRIGERATOR, DESTROYED HIS BEDROOM DOOR, AND THREATENED TO KILL HER AND HIMSELF IF SHE CALLED POLICE.  TUTTLE ALLEGEDLY SWUNG THE AXE AT THE WOMAN, BUT SHE STEPPED BACK AND IT DID NOT HIT HER.  TUTTLE THEN FORCED HIS MOTHER INTO HIS BEDROOM AND MADE HER STAY FOR SEVERAL HOURS WATCHING MOVIES WITH HIM WHILE HE HELD THE AXE.  DEPUTIES ARRIVED AND ARRESTED TUTTLE, WHO TOLD THEM HE WAS UPSET ABOUT HIS FATHER WHO IS CURRENTLY IN THE HOSPITAL.  DEPUTIES FOUND A SWORD, AN EXPANDABLE BATON, AND A BAGGIE OF MARIJUANA IN HIS BEDROOM, ALL IN PLAIN VIEW.  TUTTLE WAS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON, FALSE IMPRISONMENT, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, AND POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.  HE IS BEING HELD ON $17,000 BOND IN THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL.
