A PORT CHARLOTTE MAN WAS KILLED AFTER HE CRASHED HIS PICK-UP IN PUNTA GORDA LAST NIGHT. THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 55 YEAR OLD GARY MOORE WAS NORTHBOUND ON US 17 NORTH OF BERMONT ROAD JUST BEFORE 9:30PM WHEN HE VEERED TO THE LEFT AND ACROSS THE SOUTHBOUND LANES ONTO THE WEST SHOULDER OF 17. HE THEN HIT THE SHRUBBERY AND TREES, COMING TO REST IN THE TREE LINE. MOORE WAS TAKEN TO CHARLOTTE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER WHERE HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD A SHORT TIME LATER. TROOPERS SAY ALCOHOL WAS NOT INVOLVED AND NO CHARGES WILL BE FILED.
