A BICYCLIST WAS KILLED AFTER AN ANTIQUE CAR DRIVER RAN HIM OVER NEAR A CAR SHOW IN ENGLEWOOD YESTERDAY.  THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 69 YEAR OLD GEOFFREY OLDER OF SARASOTA WAS NORTHBOUND ON INDIANA AVENUE IN THE RIGHT LANE JUST BEFORE 2:15PM WHEN HE LOST CONTROL OF HIS 1965 COBRA.  OLDER OVER STEERED TRYING TO REGAIN CONTROL AND HIT THE CURB ON THE EAST SHOULDER OF NORTH INDIANA, WHICH SENT THE CAR ROTATING TOWARDS THE SIDEWALK.  AN UNIDENTIFIED 69 YEAR OLD MAN WAS RIDING A PEDAL CYCLE SOUTHBOUND AND WAS HIT BY OLDER’S CAR, WHICH THREW HIM OFF THE BIKE AND UNDER THE CAR.  THE BICYCLIST WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE, WHILE OLDER WAS TREATED AT THE SCENE FOR MINOR INJURIES.  TROOPERS SAY ALCOHOL WAS NOT INVOLVED AND CHARGES ARE PENDING THE COMPLETION OF THEIR INVESTIGATION.
