SARASOTA COUNTY SHERIFF DEPUTIES ARE INVESTIGATING A SHOOTING IN SARASOTA EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.  DEPUTIES WERE CALLED TO SARASOTA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AT AROUND 4:30AM AND FOUND THE VICTIM, 39 YEAR OLD JOHN GIRARDI, WITH A GUNSHOT WOUND TO HIS LEFT UPPER ARM.  GIRARDI SAID HE WAS STOPPED AT THE INTERSECTION OF US 301 AND MYRTLE STREET AT AROUND 2:40AM WHEN HE WAS APPROACHED BY TWO BLACK MEN.  ONE REACHED INTO HIS CAR, SO GIRARDI ACCELERATED.  AS HE SPED AWAY, HE HEARD SEVERAL GUNSHOTS AND WAS HIT IN THE ARM.  DEPUTIES SAY THE INJURY WAS NOT SERIOUS AS IT APPEARED TO BE A SMALL CALIBER BULLET THAT HIT GIRARDI.  THE VICTIM WAS NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DESCRIPTION OF THE SUSPECTS.  ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ON THE SHOOTING IS ASKED TO CALL CRIME STOPPERS AT 366-TIPS, OR THEY CAN GO ONLINE TO WWW.SARASOTACRIMESTOPPERS.COM.
