A PORT CHARLOTTE MAN WAS ARRESTED WEDNESDAY AFTER HE ALLEGEDLY THREATENED A MAN WITH A SHARD OF GLASS.  DEPUTIES SAY THEY RECEIVED A CALL FROM A MECHANIC WORKING ON A JET ENGINE AT THE PUNTA GORDA AIRPORT EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING WHO SAID HE SAW A MAN, LATER IDENTIFIED AS 21 YEAR OLD ADAM JONES WALK INTO THE HANGAR.  JONES SAID HE WAS WITH A&D AND WAS INVESTIGATING A BREAK IN AT AIR TREK AMBULANCE SERVICES, BUT HE WOULD NOT PRODUCE I D.  THE MECHANIC ORDERED JONES TO LEAVE AND FOLLOWED HIM TO THE FRONT OFFICE WHERE HE NOTICED BROKEN GLASS ON THE FLOOR.  JONES SAID THIS WAS HIS SCENE AND HE NEEDED TO INVESTIGATE. AFTER AGAIN BEING ASKED TO LEAVE, JONES PUSHED THE MECHANIC IN THE CHEST AND PICKED UP A SHARD OF GLASS.  HE THEN WALKED TOWARD THE MECHANIC IN A THREATENING MANNER AND HELD THE GLASS NEAR THE MECHANIC’S FACE.  HE THEN THREW IT TO THE GROUND AND TOOK OFF IN HIS CHEVY PICK-UP.  A DEPUTY ON PATROL STOPPED THE TRUCK AND THE MECHANIC WAS BROUGHT TO THE SCENE WHERE HE POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED JONES.  DEPUTIES FOUND AN AIR TREK PAMPHLET ON HIM AND THE TAX RECEIPT WAS IN PLAIN VIEW IN HIS PICK-UP.  JONES WAS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON, BATTERY, PETIT THEFT, TRESPASS AFTER WARNING, AND DRIVING WHILE HIS LICENSE IS SUSPENDED.
