MAN WHO RAN OUT OF GAS ATTACKED

SARASOTA COUNTY DEPUTIES ARE LOOKING FOR TWO PEOPLE WHO ROBBED A MAN AFTER HE RAN OUT OF GAS IN NEWTOWN EARLY THIS MORNING.  DEPUTIES WERE CALLED TO CHILK AVENUE AND MARTIN LUTHER KING JUNIOR WAY AT AROUND 1AM WHERE THE FOUND THE VICTIM AND HIS VEHICLE.  HE TOLD AUTHORITIES HE WAS WAITING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR HIS SON TO ARRIVE WITH A GAS CAN WHEN A BLACK MAN AND WOMAN JUMPED OUT OF A VEHICLE THAT PULLED UP ALONGSIDE HIM.  THE FEMALE POINTED A HANDGUN AT THE VICTIM WHILE THE MAN TOOK HIS WALLET.  THEY THEN DROVE AWAY IN A DARK BLUE TWO-DOOR VEHICLE, THE MAKE AND MODEL OF WHICH IS UNKNOWN.  THE MALE SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS 5’8” TALL, ABOUT 175 POUNDS, AND WAS WEARING A BLACK SHIRT WITH WHITE LETTERING, JEAN SHORTS, AND A BANDANA ON HIS HEAD.  THE WOMAN WAS 5’1”, ABOUT 100 POUNDS WITH A LARGE BRAID IN HER HAIR.  SHE WAS WEARING A WHITE T-SHIRT AND BLACK PANTS.  ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS AT 861-1719, OR CRIME STOPPERS AT 366-TIPS.
