HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE TURNED OUT WEDNESDAY NIGHT IN PALMETTO TO REMEMBER THE MANATEE COUNTY SCHOOL TEACHER WHO WAS SHOT AND KILLED AS HE ANSWERED THE FRONT DOOR OF HIS NORTH PORT HOME LAST WEEK.  61 YEAR OLD KENNETH ELLIS, A POPULAR TAEKWONDO TEACHER FOR 13 YEARS AT THE MANATEE SCHOOL OF THE ARTS, WAS EULOGIZED AS A MAN WITH INTEGRITY, COURTESY, PERSEVERANCE, SELF CONTROL AND INDOMITABLE SPIRIT…THE FIVE LESSONS THAT HE TAUGHT TO EACH OF HIS STUDENTS.  ALL OF HIS STUDENTS BOWED DOWN TO HIM FOR THE LAST TIME AS THEY MOURNED HIS PASSING.  MEANWHILE, NORTH PORT POLICE HAVE RECEIVED FIFTEEN LEADS IN THE CASE, AND AS OF YESTERDAY THEY HAD CLOSED ONE OF THEM.  SARASOTA CRIME STOPPERS HAS OFFERED A ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR CASH REWARD FOR INFORMATION THAT LEADS TO THE ARREST OF ELLIS’ KILLER.  IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION, YOU ARE ASKED TO CALL NORTH PORT POLICE AT 429-7300.
