Hey DeSoto County! It’s officially ONE WEEK to go until the 2024 DeSoto County Fair kicks off! ???? Sheriff Potter, in collaboration with Marshal Jones, Arcadia Police Department and the DeSoto County Fair Association, is working hard to make sure it’s a week filled with fun, laughter and most importantly, safety!
We’re thrilled to announce our brand-new Command Center, generously donated by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office! Located at the heart of the fairgrounds, our dedicated law enforcement deputies will be stationed here, ensuring everyone’s safety.
For our young fairgoers, we’re introducing an innovative safety measure. Parents and guardians, if you want extra protection for your child, you can request and approve a safety band for your child at the Command Center. Each child will get a unique number, with their parent or guardian’s contact info recorded. Kids attending the fair need to sign up for a new safety band EVERY DAY, keeping our records up-to-date. We encourage you to swing by the Command Center upon arrival to check-in your little ones and get them banded to safety.
