TWO NORTH PORT RESIDENTS WERE ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY STEALING JEWELRY FROM A HOME THEY WERE HIRED TO CLEAN IN MANATEE COUNTY.  DEPUTIES SAY 30 YEAR OLD CLIFTON UNDERWOOD AND 28 YEAR OLD JENNIFER THORP WERE HIRED TO CLEAN A HOME ON 72ND TERRACE EAST ON APRIL 6TH AS SUBCONTRACTORS OF ENVIRO CLEANING.  WHILE THEY WERE THERE, UNDERWOOD TOOK $6000 WORTH OF JEWELRY AND THORP TOOK A $600 BLUE STONE 14 KARAT GOLD RING WITH DIAMONDS.  BOTH SOLD THE JEWELRY TO YOUNG’S CREATIVE JEWELRY IN ENGLEWOOD.  THE OWNER OF THE STOLEN PROPERTY DISCOVERED THEM MISSING AND CONFRONTED THE TWO AND ENVIRO CLEANING.  DEPUTIES ARRESTED UNDERWOOD AND THORP ON TUESDAY AND CHARGED THEM WITH GRAND THEFT.  THEY BOTH TOLD AUTHORITIES THEY DID IT BECAUSE THEY HAVE A SERIOUS PRESCRIPTION DRUG PROBLEM.  UNDERWOOD IS BEING HELD ON $2000 BOND, WHILE THORP’S BOND IS $1000.
