THE NORTH PORT CITY COMMISSION VOTED 5-0 ON TUESDAY TO BRING IN FIVE CANDIDATES FOR INTERVIEWS FOR THE OPEN CITY MANAGER POSITION NEXT WEEK.  THE CITY COMMISSION AGREED TO INVITE ALAN COHEN, THE PRESIDENT OF COHEN CONSULTING AND FORMER MAYOR OF ITHICA, NEW YORK; MARK KUTNEY, DEPUTY CITY MANAGER OF BELLE GLADE; JONATHAN LEWIS, DEPUTY CITY MANAGER OF PALM BAY; BARBARA LIPSCOMB, CITY MANAGER OF CASSELBERRY; AND GARY SHIMUN, FORMER TOWN ADMINISTRATOR OF DAVIE.  THE CANDIDATES WILL BE INVITED TO ATTEND AN INFORMAL MEET-AND-GREET WITH THE CITY COMMISSION AND THE PUBLIC NEXT FRIDAY, MARCH 4TH FROM 6-7:30PM AT THE HERON CREEK GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB.  THE NEXT DAY THE CANDIDATES WILL BE INTERVIEWED BY THE CITY COMMISSIONERS ONE-ON-ONE IN THE MORNING FOLLOWED BY A PUBLIC MEETING AT 1PM.  THE COMMISSION ANTICIPATES SELECTING A CITY MANAGER DURING A PUBLIC MEETING ON MARCH 11TH AT 5:30PM.
