A NORTH PORT WOMAN WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED IN A FIVE VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON THE INTERSTATE JUST NORTH OF THE VENICE CONNECTOR ON FRIDAY.  THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 21 YEAR OLD JEANNINE BLEWITT OF SARASOTA WAS NORTHBOUND IN THE RIGHT LANE AT MILE MARKER 201 AT AROUND 2:45PM WHEN SHE RAN INTO THE BACK OF A DUMP TRUCK IN FRONT OF HER THAT WAS DRIVEN BY 57 YEAR OLD FRANK PHANORD OF FORT MYERS.  THE IMPACT SENT BLEWITT’S NISSAN INTO THE CENTER LANE WHERE SHE HIT A FORD FOCUS THAT WAS DRIVEN BY 76 YEAR OLD MARLENE GOLDSCHMITT OF NORTH PORT.  GOLDSCHMITT’S CAR WAS ALSO HIT FROM BEHIND BY A CAR DRIVEN BY 62 YEAR OLD DIANNA PATRICK OF NORTH PORT.  BLEWITT ALSO HIT ANOTHER FORD THAT WAS DRIVEN BY 26 YEAR OLD BRENDON BOCK OF BRADENTON.  GOLDSCHMITT WAS TAKEN TO SARASOTA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN SERIOUS CONDITION; WHILE BLEWITT WAS TREATED AT THE SCENE FOR MINOR INJURIES WHILE NO ONE ELSE WAS HURT.  THE INTERSTATE WAS SHUT DOWN FOR SEVERAL HOURS WHILE THE HIGHWAY WAS CLEANED UP AND TROOPERS CONDUCTED THEIR INVESTIGATION.  THEY CHARGED BLEWITT WITH CARELESS DRIVING IN THE ACCIDENT.
