On April 21, 2023, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested Romerio La Tee Walker II, who faces outstanding charges from HCSO including burglary of unoccupied structure and possession of burglary tools. As seen in the captured helicopter surveillance footage, Romerio led HCSO law enforcement deputies on a pursuit in Plant City, eventually crashing into a ditch before fleeing from deputies on foot.
Throughout 2022, Romerio has been the primary suspect in several boat motor thefts around the state of Florida, including several thefts specifically here in DeSoto County. Romerio currently has an active arrest warrant in DeSoto County for charges including burglary of conveyance, grand theft motor vehicle and criminal mischief of $1,000 or more.
Romerio may be BACK BEHIND BARS, but the investigation is still ongoing as we continue to follow up on additional leads in this case, and we are still on the lookout for this man, Eldred Dracey Kellum, who also has an arrest warrant for burglary of conveyance, grand theft motor vehicle and criminal mischief of $1,000 or more.
