Andrew D. Bailey, 28, of Sarasota, has been arrested and is facing two (2) counts of burglary of a structure following two rooftop burglaries in the City of Sarasota between November 29, 2019 and December 1, 2019.

On November 29, 2019 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Sarasota Police Officers responded to a report of a business burglary along North Tamiami Trail that happened overnight.  An unknown suspect entered the business via rooftop access and stole approximately $400 from two crash registers.

On December 1, 2019, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Sarasota Police Officers responded to report of a business burglary along North Tamiami Trail that happened overnight.  An unknown suspect entered the business via rooftop air conditioning access and stole more than $3,000 cash.

On December 2, 2019, Sarasota Police Officers received a call from First Step in Sarasota.  Employees said an adult male was attempting to admit himself, but he needed to confess to some “robberies” first.  Employees of First Step called Sarasota Police and Officers responded and transported the man to Sarasota Police Headquarters.

Bailey was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary of a structure on Monday, December 2, 2019.  He remains at the Sarasota County Jail.  A booking photo and PCAs are attached.
