As we dive into the new school year, DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office wants to give you some friendly reminders about driving safely around school buses. We encourage everyone to do their part to make sure our students get to and from school without any incidents.
🛑 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐏 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬: When a school bus stops and extends its stop sign, we must all come to a complete stop. It’s a small pause that can make a big difference in a child’s life.
👀 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐭: Kids can be unpredictable, and they might not always follow traffic rules. Keep a watchful eye out for children around school bus stops, and be prepared to slow down or stop if necessary.
🚸 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬: These are designated areas where speed limits are reduced during specific hours.
🙏 𝐁𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭: Sometimes school buses make frequent stops, and it might slow down your commute. Remember our patience ensures the safety of others.
