Sheriff James Potter Leads Digital Safety Series for Parents at South Florida State College
ARCADIA, Fla. – DeSoto County Sheriff James Potter will take the stage this September to help parents navigate one of today’s most pressing issues: keeping children safe online.
Sheriff Potter will headline a three-part series, “Protecting Your Children in a Digital Age,” hosted at South Florida State College, 2551 NE Turner Avenue, Arcadia. The free community sessions will be held on September 9, September 16, and September 23, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Drawing on his law enforcement experience, Sheriff Potter will address the risks young people face with social media, online predators, and cyberbullying, while also sharing practical tools parents can use to safeguard their families.
“Protecting our children is a responsibility we all share,” Sheriff Potter said. “The digital world changes every day, and parents need the knowledge and resources to keep their kids safe.”
The series is open to parents, grandparents, educators, and anyone in the community interested in child safety in the digital age.
