AS INVESTIGATORS CONTINUE TO LOOK INTO WHAT CAUSED A FIRE AT A DEEP CREEK STORAGE FACILITY, RENTERS ARE BEING MADE TO WAIT TO COLLECT THEIR BELONGINGS…AND SOME ARE NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT. THE MONDAY NIGHT FIRE REPORTEDLY DAMAGED OR DESTROYED ABOUT EIGHTY UNITS AT STORAGE AMERICA ON CAPRICORN BOULEVARD, AND THE OWNER MICHAEL BROMLEY TOLD REPORTERS IT COULD BE THREE WEEKS BEFORE SOME RENTERS CAN TRY TO SALVAGE THEIR BELONGINGS. THE GATES TO THE STORAGE FACILITY WERE LOCKED AND SECURITY CODES WERE NOT WORKING ON UNITS; EVEN THOSE THAT WERE NOT DAMAGED BY THE BLAZE. ONE RENTER WHO HAS HAD HER BELONGINGS THERE FOR TEN YEARS SAYS SHE DRIVES UP EVERYDAY AND THEY KEEP TELLING HER IT’S NOT SAFE TO GO IN. FIVE FIREFIGHTERS WERE TREATED AT LOCAL HOSPITALS FOR HEAT EXHAUSTION, AND IT’S NOT KNOWN HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE INVESTIGATORS TO DETERMINE A CAUSE.
