A PORT CHARLOTTE WOMAN WAS ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY STEALING JEWELRY FROM HER EMPLOYER.  CHARLOTTE COUNTY DEPUTIES SAY THE INVESTIGATION STARTED FEBRUARY 22ND WHEN THE OWNER OF THE WATCH DOCTOR IN PORT CHARLOTTE REPORTED SEVERAL PIECES OF JEWELRY MISSING.  HE SUSPECTED THAT 27 YEAR OLD KAREN FISHER, WHO WORKED AT THE STORE WAS THE CULPRIT, BUT HE DIDN’T HAVE PROOF.  DETECTIVES CHECKED THE PAWN DATABASE AND FOUND FISHER HAD MADE SEVERAL TRANSACTIONS SINCE DECEMBER 1ST AT TWO PORT CHARLOTTE PAWN SHOPS.  THE JEWELRY AT THE PAWN SHOPS WAS IDENTIFIED BY THE OWNER OF THE WATCH DOCTOR, AND ON MARCH 10TH THE OWNER CAUGHT FISHER PUTTING ITEMS IN HER PURSE AS SHE CLEANED THE TOP OF A SHOWCASE.  THEN ON MARCH 15TH DETECTIVES LOCATED MORE STOLEN JEWELRY AT A NORTH PORT PAWN SHOP, WHICH INCLUDED DIAMOND RINGS, GOLD RINGS, PENDANTS AND BRACELETS.  FISHER WAS PICKED UP TUESDAY AND CHARGED WITH FIVE COUNTS OF THEFT BY AN EMPLOYEE, FOUR COUNTS OF DEALING IN STOLEN PROPERTY, AND FOUR COUNTS OF GIVING FALSE VERIFICATION TO A PAWN BROKER.  SHE POSTED BOND AND WAS RELEASED.
