PUNTA GORDA AND NORTH PORT POLICE OFFICERS ARRESTED A SECOND SUSPECT IN A SUNDAY MORNING SHOOTING IN DOWNTOWN PUNTA GORDA.  NORTH PORT POLICE ARRESTED 21 YEAR OLD TRAVIS WRIGHT AT HIS ANNAPOLIS LANE HOME LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON, AND HE FACES FELONY CHARGES OF AGGRAVATED BATTERY, DISCHARGING A FIREARM IN PUBLIC FROM A VEHICLE, AND AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON.  THIS FOLLOWS THE ARREST MONDAY NIGHT OF 17 YEAR OLD DALTON EDWARDS OF NORTH PORT ON SIMILAR CHARGES.  BOTH ARRESTS STEM FROM THE SHOOTING JUST AFTER 2AM SUNDAY AT THE INTERSECTION OF WEST MARION AVENUE AND TAYLOR STREET.  AFTER AN ARGUMENT INSIDE THE RIVER CITY GRILL, WRIGHT DROVE AWAY WITH EDWARDS TOWARDS THE INTERSECTION.  EDWARDS POINTED A GUN AT A GROUP OF PEOPLE STANDING AND SITTING ON BENCHES HOPING TO SCARE THE BOYFRIEND OF THE WOMAN HE WAS ARGUING WITH WHEN THE GUN WENT OFF AND HIT A 21 YEAR OLD CHARLOTTE COUNTY WOMAN IN THE LEG.  SHE CONTINUES TO RECOVER IN THE CHARLOTTE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER.  WRIGHT DROVE AWAY FROM THE SCENE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND FIRED A GUN AS THEY HEADED NORTH ON 41.  WRIGHT IS BEING HELD IN THE SARASOTA COUNTY JAIL PENDING EXTRADITION BACK TO CHARLOTTE COUNTY.  EDWARDS REMAINS IN THE JUVENILE JUSTICE CENTER IN FORT MYERS.
