The $470 million construction project initiated by Allegiant Air was halted in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The county issued the building permits in September of 2019. Authorities said Allegiant would have to send a request for the emergency extension. Allegiant’ executives assumed the extension was automatic and would continue until the state of emergency ends in Florida.
Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is projected to be a desirable destination with stunning waterfront views, incredible amenities, and a world-class collection of restaurants and bars.
