A SARASOTA TEEN WAS ARRESTED WEDNESDAY AND THEY ARE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER IN CONNECTION WITH A STRING OF RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES.  DEPUTIES SAY 19 YEAR OLD COREY STRAUGHN WAS ARRESTED AFTER A SEARCH WARRANT OF HIS HOME ON NODOSA AVENUE WAS EXECUTED.  DETECTIVES FOUND HUNDREDS OF STOLEN ITEMS INCLUDING WEAPONS, ELECTRONICS, CELL PHONES, AND JEWELRY.  DEPUTIES SAY STRAUGHN HAS A CRIMINAL HISTORY THAT DATES ALL THE WAY BACK TO WHEN HE WAS ELEVEN, AND HE NOW HAS A DOZEN ARRESTS AND MULTIPLE FELONY CONVICTIONS FOR ARMED BURGLARY, FIRING WEAPONS, LARCENY, AND FRAUD.  HOWEVER, HE HAS NEVER SERVED PRISON TIME.  STRAUGHN FACES FOUR COUNTS OF POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON, ONE COUNT OF DEALING IN STOLEN PROPERTY, ONE COUNT OF BURGLARY, AND ONE COUNT OF GRAND THEFT.  DETECTIVES ALSO HAVE ACTIVE WARRANTS FOR ANOTHER SUSPECT IN THESE CRIMES, 18 YEAR OLD BRIAN PALASZ.  ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS AT 861-4900, OR YOU CAN LEAVE ANONYMOUS INFORMATION WITH CRIME STOPPERS, EITHER BY PHONE AT 366-TIPS, OR ONLINE AT WWW.SARASOTACRIMESTOPPERS.COM.  THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING AND CHARGES WILL BE ADDED AS DETECTIVES CONNECT RECOVERED PROPERTY TO ADDITIONAL CASES.
