A NORTH PORT TEEN WAS KILLED AND A PASSENGER WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT ON THE INTERSTATE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON.  THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 16 YEAR OLD MARCUS FREEMAN WAS SOUTHBOUND IN THE LEFT LANE OF I-75 ABOUT A MILE NORTH OF THE TOLEDO BLADE BOULEVARD EXIT JUST AFTER 1PM WHEN HE LOST CONTROL OF HIS 1995 FORD PICK-UP.  THE TRUCK TRAVELED OFF THE ROADWAY ONTO THE RIGHT SHOULDER BEFORE THE LEFT FRONT HIT SOME TREES AND SHRUBBERY.  THE PICK-UP ENDED UP BACK ON THE SHOULDER FACING NORTHBOUND.  FREEMAN WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE, WHILE HIS PASSENGER, 16 YEAR OLD CARLY O’BOYLE OF SARASOTA WAS BAYFLITED TO BAYFRONT MEDICAL CENTER IN ST. PETERSBURG IN SERIOUS CONDITION.  TROOPERS SAY ALCOHOL WAS NOT A FACTOR AND BOTH TEENS WERE WEARING THEIR SEAT BELTS.
