State Road 70 Project

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to a public meeting for the SR 70 from Peace River to NE Baker Street FN: 441562-1 project, in DeSoto County.

You can participate in the SR 70 from Peace River to NE Baker Street Public Meeting online or in-person. The same materials will be displayed at both the online and in-person events and will also be posted by July 25, 2023, on the project website. 

IN-PERSON OPTION: Attend the SR 70 from Peace River to NE Baker Street Public Meeting on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the Turner Agri-Civic Center located at 2250 NE Roan Street, Arcadia, Florida, 34266. Attend the in-person event anytime between 6 and 8 p.m. to view the project displays, speak with project team members, and submit comments or questions.

ONLINE OPTION: Attend virtually on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, starting at 6 p.m. This event will include viewing the project presentation slides and an opportunity to submit questions via the website. Register in advance by visiting https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7038481236400448599

or on the project website. Once registered, attendees will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting online.

After reviewing the SR 70 from Peace River to NE Baker Street Public Meeting materials and/or participating, you may submit comments in three ways: 1) through the project website; 2) email the Community Outreach Manager (Corine Burgess) at [email protected]; or 3) mail comments to Corine Burgess at Heartland Operations Center, 4722 Kenilworth Blvd., Sebring,  FL 33870.

FDOT is sending notices to property owners, business owners, interested persons, and organizations within 300 feet of the project to provide information about the project to citizens, businesses, and governmental entities.

FDOT solicits public participation without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. People who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Cynthia Sykes, District One Title VI Coordinator, at (863) 519-2287 or email at [email protected]  at least seven days prior to the meeting.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016, and executed by FHWA and FDOT.
