CHARLOTTE COUNTY TOURISM OFFICIALS KNEW IT WOULD BE A TOUGH JOB TO REPLACE BECKY BOVELL AS DIRECTOR, AND THEY BELIEVE THEY HAVE THEIR WOMAN.  LORAH STEINER, A LODGING MARKETING SPECIALIST FROM COLUMBIA, MISSOURI IS THE ONE THAT EMERGED FROM A SIX MONTH NATIONAL SEARCH AND NUMEROUS INTERVIEWS TO FILL THE POST.  CHARLOTTE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ARE EXPECTED TO APPROVE HER HIRE NEXT TUESDAY DURING THEIR REGULAR MEETING.  STEINER HAS HELD MANAGERIAL ROLES WITH LARGE HOTEL CHAINS AND CURRENTLY SERVES AS THE DIRECTOR OF THE VISITORS BUREAU IN COLUMBIA.  IF APPROVED, SHE SHOULD START IN HER NEW POSITION IN MARCH.  THE SUN REPORTS THAT STEINER WAS SENT AN OFFER LETTER ON DECEMBER 31ST WITH A STARTING PAY OF $87,500.
