Traffic Stop Yields Fugitive Wanted On Multiple Warrants

DeSoto County Police Department:
At approximately 4:00 am July 22, 2022, DeSoto County Sheriff’s Deputy completed a traffic stop on a vehicle with a headlight out on County Road 661. During the traffic stop, the subject was initially uncooperative, providing the deputy with false information regarding his identity. Once the proper identity was determined, Dispatch completed a warrant check on the subject, who was found to have multiple warrants, including a Federal Warrant.
Darius Hudson was arrested for Possession of Marijuana less than 20 grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, False Identify to Law Enforcement Officer, and Driving While License Suspended or Revoked. His Federal Warrant was also served for Use, Carry, or Possess of a Firearm in Relation to or in Furtherance of a Drug Felony or a Federal Crime of Violence and Interference with Commerce by Threats or Violence.
A minor infraction leads to a major arrest for the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office. With the combined efforts of the Deputy and the Telecommunicator, a Federal Warrant was served, reminding individuals that if you want to commit a crime or hide from the law, don’t come to DeSoto County.
