Thursday, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office dedicated Narcotics Unit swiftly responded to Oak Street Apartments, where they apprehended 23-year-old Javin Jenkins, who was wanted for a Felony Violation of Probation Warrant. Upon confrontation, Jenkins resisted and even threatened our deputies, but our team acted with professionalism and managed to safely detain him.
During a search of the residence, our detectives uncovered a shocking stash: illegal narcotics and ammunition. Jenkins, a two-time convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing these items, which makes this even more concerning!
Jenkins is now in custody, facing multiple charges including possession of MDMA, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, resisting officers and more. Sheriff Jim Potter commends #TeamDCSO for their diligent efforts in removing these dangerous substances from our streets and ensuring the safety of our communities.
Sheriff Potter expresses gratitude for the tireless work of our deputies and reitterates our commitment to keeping DeSoto County safe. Let’s continue working together to combat drug-related crimes and keep our neighborhoods secure. #SafeDeSoto ????
