CHARLOTTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S NARCOTICS UNIT DETECTIVES WORKING WITH STREET CRIMES UNITS HAVE MADE ANOTHER UNDERCOVER DRUG ARREST. THIRTY NINE YEAR OLD ERNEST GIBBS OF PORT CHARLOTTE MET WITH UNDERCOVER DETECTIVES IN A BUSINESS PARKING LOT ON GERTRUDE AVENUE IN PORT CHARLOTTE ON TUESDAY AND SOLD THEM FIFTY OXYCODONE PILLS FOR $750. UNITS THEN MOVED IN AND MADE THE ARREST. GIBBS WAS TAKEN TO THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL AND CHARGED WITH TRAFFICKING IN OXYCODONE, POSSESSION OF OXYCODONE AND POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS PARAPHERNALIA. HE REMAINS IN JAIL WITHOUT BOND BECAUSE OF THIRTEEN PRIOR FELONY CONVICTIONS.
