Veterans Amnesty Court Offers Second Chance for Those Who Served

Arcadia, FL – DeSoto County is proud to honor the service of our military personnel by hosting a special Veterans Amnesty Court on Saturday, June 7th, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the DeSoto County Courthouse, located at 115 E. Oak St., Arcadia, FL 34266.

This unique court session is dedicated to helping veterans who have faced legal challenges after their time in service. The program offers eligible veterans the opportunity to resolve certain legal matters in a supportive environment that recognizes their contributions to the nation.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Participants must be current or former members of the United States Armed Forces.

  • The court will consider non-violent felony charges and misdemeanors (reviewed on a case-by-case basis).

  • Note: Cases involving the sale or delivery of controlled substances are not eligible, regardless of adjudication.

This initiative reflects a commitment to restorative justice and community support, offering veterans a path toward resolution and reintegration.
