DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office PRESS RELEASE
WANTED SUSPECT CAPTURED AFTER PURSUIT & SEARCH
In the early hours of April 16, 2025, at approximately 1:40 a.m., Sergeant Bierman located Dequan Richardson at the Wawa store in Arcadia. Richardson had an active warrant for multiple charges, including Fleeing to Elude Law Enforcement.
As deputies confirmed his identity, Richardson fled the scene at a high rate of speed. A vehicle pursuit followed, with support from the Arcadia Police Department. The chase came to an end when Richardson crashed into a guardrail and fled on foot.
During a search of the vehicle, Sergeant Bierman and Deputy Kalchbrenner discovered illegal narcotics, cash, and drug paraphernalia. Several hours later, thanks to continued efforts and critical information received, deputies located Richardson at a residence and successfully took him into custody. He is now being held in the DeSoto County Jail.
Sheriff Jim Potter commends the determination and teamwork shown by both our nightshift and dayshift deputies, as well as the Arcadia Police Department, for working tirelessly to bring Richardson to justice.
